Job Summary 

The Manager, Clinical Education oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational initiatives within the organization to ensure staff competency, professional development, and regulatory compliance. This role involves managing clinical educators, coordinating competency assessments, and collaborating with department leaders and healthcare professionals to support organizational goals. The Manager, Clinical Education plays a critical role in enhancing patient care through the delivery of high-quality educational programs and fostering an environment of continuous learning. 

Essential Functions

Manages the daily operations of the clinical education department, ensuring alignment with hospital-wide goals and initiatives. Supervises clinical educators, providing leadership, support, and guidance for program development and delivery. Collaborates with nursing leadership, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to identify and address educational needs. Plans, implements, and evaluates orientation programs for new hires and ongoing competency assessments for staff. Develops and monitors the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback collection, data analysis, and outcome measurement. Oversees preceptor training, development, and effectiveness, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires and staff development. Facilitates staff participation in certification programs, continuing education, and professional development opportunities. Promotes the use of evidence-based practices and ensures educational content is current and aligns with industry standards. Assists in the design and delivery of education programs and initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Education required Master's Degree in Nursing or Education preferred 5-7 years of clinical experience in an acute care or similar healthcare setting required 2-4 years of experience in an education, leadership, or management role preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across departments. Expertise in adult learning principles, program development, and instructional design. Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and related technologies. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements for healthcare education. Ability to analyze data and trends to evaluate program effectiveness and drive improvements.

Licenses and Certifications

RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required BCLS - Basic Life Support required NPD - Nursing Professional Development preferred Life Support Instructor certifications preferred (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS) preferred
