**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares and cooks all items needed for patient tray line cafeteria and catering events.
+ Prepares meals that are of good quality: seasoned properly proper doneness temperature consistency on time and presented attractively.
+ Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques; confers with dietary personnel as necessary.
+ Follows appropriate recipes as provided.
+ Properly wraps dates and stores food.
+ Uses proper body mechanics when handling food and kitchen equipment.
+ Properly uses a thermometer for cooking and storing of foods.
+ Follows modified diets for special patient care.
+ Responsible for cooking to diet office tallies and forecasts.
+ Responsible for keeping work area neat clean and organized.
+ Responsible for rotation of foods in Cooks boxes.
**Qualifications**
+ High School graduate or GED
+ A minimum of two years recent experience as a cook or assistant cook.
+ Fire Safety card required within 90 days of hire.
**This position is covered by SEIU-UHW and subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.**

We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. The Ideal candidate will have previous experence as a Cook. As a Cook at Northridge Hospital Medical Center you will prepare, season and cook meals for our hospital patients, employees, physicians, and visitors.
**Pay Range**
$23.22 - $29.20 /hour
