Job Summary
The Environmental Services Worker Lead is responsible for supervising and leading a team of environmental services workers to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of hospital or facility environments. This role includes overseeing daily cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, providing training and support to team members, and managing resources to maintain a high standard of cleanliness across all areas of the facility. The Environmental Services Worker Lead plays a critical role in supporting the hospital's efforts to provide a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
Courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional environmental management. preferred 2-4 years of experience in an environmental services or custodial role required 0-1 years in a leadership or supervisory position in a healthcare setting preferred Experience in healthcare cleaning standards, infection control practices, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Knowledge of infection control procedures, hospital cleaning standards, and safety regulations. Ability to train, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to staff. High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety. Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
