We are currently building a new, 105,000+ square foot Primary Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville, Utah. Serving ages 4-18 with behavioral and mental health diagnoses, we offer outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and inpatient care. Together, we can inspire children to live the healthiest lives possible.

Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30pm) no weekends or holidays Department: Primary Children's Hospital Taylorsville CampusAdditional Details:
This position will be located at the new Primary Children's Hospital Taylorsville campus; however, onboarding/training for the position will occur onsite at Lehi-Miller and Salt Lake Campuses until hospital opening in September 2025.

Previous exposure/experience in a behavioral health/mental health setting is preferred.

Required Qualifications  

3 years of healthcare experience  

Bachelor’s degree 

Bi-lingual preferred, Spanish speaking 

Experience working with parents or families of hospitalized children
 

Essential Functions 

Coordinates with outpatient clinics and inpatient units as part of the Destination Services Team to offer families traveling from out of the area assistance with lodging, transportation, clothing, meal vouchers, and other hospital resources, as needed.  

Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. 

Maintains program materials including wayfinding information, community resources, travel/hotel information, and area attractions.   

Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to community partners, the public, government, and other external sources to maintain a positive community presence and lasting relationship. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail. 

Leads the Family 2 Family Mentorship Program, which includes leading a steering committee of parent volunteers and staff. Additional duties include recruitment, screening, selection, training, and oversight of parent volunteers. Facilitates outreach efforts, hospital-wide presentations, and program reporting.

Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. 

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. 

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$21.98 - $33.48
