Job Summary
The Manager, Lab is responsible for overseeing the administrative, fiscal, and technical operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care. This role involves planning, organizing, and evaluating laboratory functions while managing personnel, budgets, and resources. The Manager serves as a technical supervisor for on-site and off-site clinical laboratory functions, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
Associate Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution; or a passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency Examination approved by HHS (HEW); or prior employment as a laboratory supervisor in a hospital licensed by the Department of Health before January 1, 1995 required or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field required 5-7 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required 2-4 years of supervisory or management experience in a laboratory environment preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, testing procedures, and regulatory standards. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Proficiency in budgeting, resource allocation, and fiscal management. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex issues effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and staff. Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems (LIS) and hospital-wide software applications.Licenses and Certifications
MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) required or ASCP - Medical Technologist required Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)-AMT preferred or CLS-L - Clinical Lab Scientist License preferred
