Job Description:
Provides extraordinary care to our customers through friendly, courteous, and professional service through a broad understanding of account handling processes, extraordinary interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues in a timely and accurate manner.ScopeAs a Patient Billing Resolution Specialist, you need to know how to:
Work directly with patients to resolve billing issues presented at the care site or clinics. Investigate issues presented by reviewing data in Epic and relevant bolt on systems.
Work directly with Revenue Service Center personnel to problem solve the issue.
Communicate and follow through directly with the patient or designated family member(s).
Collect and process payments. Explain the billing processes and procedures of SCL Health to patients and site-based employees.
Develop and maintain relationships with Revenue Service Center personnel in Customer Service, Self-Pay, Cash, Insurance Follow-Up, Coding, and other areas impacting the patient billing experience.
Act as a resource for billing questions on behalf of the Revenue Service Center at the care site. Promote a patient-centric billing approach.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience supporting the patient billing function, required- In-depth knowledge of internal and external assistance programs, required- Demonstrated understanding of relevant contractual obligations and compliance regulations including HIPAA, required- Bachelors Degree, preferred
