**Responsibilities**
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Per Diem performs nursing care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or there direct management member. The LVN performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties. Assist with patient and family teaching working cooperatively with all health care providers. The LVN utilizes observation and assists medical staff to ensure optimal care within established policies procedures and standards of Community Hospital of San Bernardino
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. + Makes regular rounds of assigned residents, recognizes the change in resident status and reports changes to immediate supervisor and initiate appropriate treatment.
+ Reviews and revises resident care plans as needed.
+ Is aware of the psychologiocal needs as well as the physical needs of resident and family, rendering assistance where possible and showing empathetic understanding of individual resident/family differences.
+ Recognizes life threatening situations and initiates life saving measures where the need is apparent, including CPR.
+ Promotes and participates in resident education and rehabilitation.
+ Demonstrates competency in usage of equipment commonly used in area including but not limited to trach cuff pressure, checks with manometer; enteral feedings; trach care including suctioning (but not below bifurcation).
+ Assists the physician in making rounds and preparing for Team Conference.
+ Administers treatments and medications ordered by physician, excluding IV medications and anticoagulants, and sees that the therapy is charted. Starts IV's as needed.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ One (1) year experience in Long Term Care and/or Subacute required.
+ Valid California IV Certification through the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) or to be obtained within 90 days of employment and will be contingent on continued employment
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

**Pay Range**
$41.36 - $41.36 /hour
