**Job Summary**
The Network Administrator manages the day-to-day operations of network systems, ensuring network performance, availability, and security. This position maintains and supports networking hardware and software, requiring a proficient understanding of networking protocols, tools, and best practices. The Network Administrator ensures proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks.
**Essential Functions**
+ Reviews, evaluates, designs and constructs the network infrastructure that supports data, voice, and image communications.
+ Designs, configures, installs and maintains hardware and peripheral equipment, including but not limited to, hubs, routers, switches, printers and LAN/WAN servers.
+ Installs, tests, maintains and administers servers.
+ Ensure appropriate security is in place to protect systems and networks from unauthorized access and tampering.
+ Monitors servers and network for optimal performance.
+ Upgrades network and hardware and software components as required.
+ Utilizes IT management tools to troubleshoot and proactively manage the network.
+ Troubleshoots network problems, confers with vendors if necessary for resolution of complicated/high profile network issues and applies fixes promptly.
+ Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security and software on file servers and reviews back-up monitoring tools.
+ Responds promptly to emergency or operationally necessary situations.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required
+ Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ 0-2 years of experience in networking required
+ 2-4 years of experience as a Network Administrator or similar role preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge and understanding of security risk management, IT security, and infrastructure.
+ Knowledge of network LAN/WAN and data communication systems.
+ Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills, and proven interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work in an analytical and objective manner with attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and complete tasks and project assignments in a timely manner.
+ Knowledge of network, system, and application security.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Can support basic and more advanced networking issues independently.
+ Ability to troubleshoot customer issues.
+ Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with and through people at all levels in the organization.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ CCDA - Cisco Certified Design Associate Network Essential certification preferred
