Our **Sacramental Priest** positionsare critical to the success of St. Joseph's Medical Center and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. It is expected that our employees demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
The **Sacramental Priest** is a full member of the health care team, sharing in the healing mission of the Dignity Health San Joaquin-Sierra Spiritual Services department. This position assesses the Catholic sacramental needs, provides counsel, educates and ministers to patients, their families, and physicians, co-workers and members of the community, as required.
**Qualifications**
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree including theological classes required
+ Experience, preferably in a hospital setting, working as part of a team
+ Ordained Catholic priest in good standing
+ Some understanding of other denominations and faiths required
+ Experience, preferably in a hospital setting, working as part of a team
+ Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
+ Knowledge of spiritual care practices as well as general office practices, including records management
+ Familiarity with current medical ethical issues and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Facilities
**PREFERRED:**
+ Master’s degree preferred

**Pay Range**
$34.50 - $47.12 /hour
