**Responsibilities** In accordance with Marian Medical Center’s mission, the Registered Nurse (RN) will demonstrate the following in their practice: * The ability to manage the quality of patient care through the nursing process. * Proficiency in coordinating the plan of care with the health care team. * Demonstrated leadership ability in supervising personnel and assisting them with their roles. * Knowledge and experience to competently and autonomously perform advanced skills such as, but not limited to, internal transport, intubation, placement of an umbilical line, and placement of a peripheral inserted central catheter (PICC). * Willingness to assume responsibility for tasks such as, but not limited to, the completion of unit competency assessments, the annual safety review, and CPR certification renewal. * Adherence to all hospital policies, including maintaining continuing education units as required by the institution. Furthermore, the RN shall exhibit the following professional qualities: * The ability to work within a collaborative model of patient care delivery. * Fluency in proficiency basic nursing skills, as well as specialty skills. * Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply it to patient care. * A caring and compassionate demeanor toward patients and their families. * Tact and empathy in interacting with patients and their families. * The ability to effectively organize and prioritize work. * Clear, effective written and oral communication skills in English. * The ability to demonstrate objective and active listening skills. * The ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other team members. * A willingness to participate in process improvement activities. * The capacity to build positive relationships with colleagues and medical staff. * The ability to remain calm and efficient in emergencies. * The capacity to act as a leader in collaborating with the patient care team. \#RN@DH **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years of experience at a Community or Regional Level Newborn ICU work experience. Other candidates to be considered on an individual basis and attributes + Registered nurse with 3 years of experience. + Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license. + Current approved health care provider CPR - BLS certification within 30 days of employment. + Current NRP certification within 30 days of employment. + Associates degree and other speciality specific training. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Greater than 5 years of experience. + BSN and/or Masters degree. + NICU certification - National certification in NICU. + STABLE and transport certification. + LACTCON certification. **Overview** Marian Regional Medical Center, a 191-bed facility located in Santa Maria, California, is recognized as one of the Top 250 Hospitals in the Nation by Healthgrades and was awarded Best Maternity Care by Newsweek.
