Senior Director, Architecture & Solution Design

**Position Profile**
The **Senior Director, Architecture & Solution Design** is the highest leadership role within the IT organization focused on application support. This position provides technical leadership and strategic direction for the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of the Oracle E-Business Suite and other enterprise applications. The role also includes supporting application and database-level solutions and co-leading the development of a disaster recovery strategy for enterprise-wide systems. This position reports directly to the **Vice President of IT Infrastructure** and plays a key role in strategic decisions around enterprise application implementation.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Direct departmental activities that deliver best-in-class solutions to business and technical challenges through effective use of information technology.
+ Partner cross-functionally within IT and with business function leaders to deliver high-value technology solutions.
+ Serve as a strategic leader focused on continuous improvement, efficiency gains, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement.
+ Identify and recommend integrated solutions, products, and services aligned with the organization’s goals and technical needs.
+ Lead a team delivering both functional and technical design solutions based on business requirements and long-term strategic direction.
+ Review business processes and technical solutions to ensure appropriate technology selection, resource efficiency, and system integration.
+ Research, analyze, and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies to drive innovation and modernization.
+ Oversee streamlined operations of the architecture and solution design function, ensuring alignment with development efforts to support business objectives.
+ Manage department budgets and personnel performance.
+ Provide technical leadership and coordination on complex projects with significant cross-functional impact.
+ Develop solution designs informed by strategic direction, business needs, and technical context.
+ Implement a data warehousing and reporting strategy to support timely, flexible, and cost-effective decision-making.
+ Define a roadmap and architectural strategy to integrate multiple platforms consistently and effectively.
+ Ensure compliance with audit requirements, SOX regulations, and internal operational controls.
**Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications)**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum 10 years of progressive IT management experience in a cross-functional, enterprise-level environment.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience with deep expertise in Oracle database management and administration.
+ At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
+ Web and application server environments
+ Workflow management and BPM
+ Middleware products such as TIBCO, WebLogic, Oracle BPEL
+ Software development and analysis methodologies
+ Strong experience with ETL and reporting tools.
+ Proven track record managing large-scale IT projects from initiation to delivery, with a history of innovation in application and data platform design.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
+ Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
+ Excellent analytical, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Superior team and departmental management capabilities.
+ Solid understanding of distribution and enterprise business models.
+ Deep expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite.
+ Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
**Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands**
+ Typically performed in an office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature.
+ Requires interpreting and applying complex information, and managing diverse work assignments.
+ Physical effort is minimal—primarily sedentary with occasional walking, standing, and light lifting (under 10 lbs.).
+ Requires basic dexterity and use of standard office tools (keyboard, calculator, etc.).
