Job Summary
The Supervisor, Admissions is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the admissions department, ensuring efficient patient intake and registration processes. This role supervises admissions staff, provides training and support, and ensures compliance with regulations and hospital policies. The Supervisor, Admissions works closely with clinical and administrative teams to facilitate a seamless patient experience while maintaining high standards of customer service and accuracy in patient data collection.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred or Technical School in healthcare related field preferred 3-5 years of experience in patient admissions, registration, or healthcare administrative support required 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of patient registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance procedures. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff. Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve patient issues and workflow challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and hospital admission software. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.Licenses and Certifications
CHAM - Certified Healthcare Access Manager preferred
