Job DescriptionEssential Functions Patient/staff education includes prioritizing urgent patient calls in response to STAT appointments and urgent post-operative problems.Provide the ability for patients to be able to get questions answered quickly especially in urgent cases.Coordinating surgical & procedural care to include preoperative surgical & procedural education as well as post-operative care.Coordinate follow-up care for postoperative patients, which may include imaging, referrals to other specialists, and office visits with operating provider.Follows the physician into patient rooms to document the encounter including the history, review of systems, and physical exam.Updates the patient chart to reflect any changes or corrections to the past medical history, surgical history, social history, and medications as directed by the physician.Displays radiology images or other studies for physicians to review.Monitors all imaging studies and or testing to ensure they return in a timely manner. As well as letting the physician know of any delays, abnormal, and following up to completion.Maintains active knowledge of key billing and coding practices.Assist with surgery/procedural scheduling to include follow up on authorizations prior to surgery dates.Participates in work that improves patient care and the professional practice environment.Community awareness of services offered.Educating other providers and the community of the types of patient care provided and procedures that are performed.Assist with communication between primary care and referring providers.Direct Reports (supervised positions)N/A
